Apple Tree Lodge is attractively situated within 3 minutes of Shanklin’s sandy beach – the sand here gently slopes to the sea making it ideal for paddling and swimming. On the sea front there are a variety of entertainments and a children’s play park. It is only a 2 minute walk from the lodge to the cliff path for beautiful views across Sandown Bay to the white cliff of Culver. Shanklin is a pleasant small resort with a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. The Old Village of Shanklin has pretty thatched cottages, tea shops and public houses, plus a beautiful chine.
Apple Tree Lodge has been furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for four people. On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting room with windows to the front and rear - furnished with comfortable sofas, a colour television and DVD player; a pleasant dining area by the front window overlooks the garden; a lovely new fitted kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher plus a breakfast area; a small utility area with a washing machine; a cloakroom with W.C and basin. Stairs lead up to two attractive bedrooms – one double and one twin room. There is also a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C. The lodge is centrally heated. Heating and electricity at no extra charge. An additional bed, large wooden cot/high chair available.
Apple Tree Lodge is one of two adjoining properties and it has a pleasant sunny garden at the front and side with lawns and shrubs. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. In the evening visitors can relax in the garden watching the sun set over the downs beyond the town. The quickest route from the lodge to the beach involves a 2 minute walk and a lift ride from the cliff top to the esplanade. Alternatively visitors can walk directly to the beach in about 5 minutes. In the summer the ‘Dotto Holiday Road Train’ can be caught from near The Lodge to the beach. Cars can be parked in the nearby roads. Regular bus service - 3 minutes walk. Train service - 7 minutes walk, to Sandown and Ryde, providing an easy link to the passenger ferry. Sunday to Sunday bookings.
