A unique holiday retreat on the south side of Swanage, this Dorset apartment enjoys superb sea views. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property is set across three storeys and includes an expansive roof terrace for taking in the sea views and relaxing in the fresh air. Stroll 150 metres to Monkey Beach or 0.5 miles to Swanage’s main sandy beach, where you can swim and hire pedaloes and kayaks. Plan trips to other beauty spots on the Isle of Purbeck, on which Swanage sits. Visit picturesque Studland Bay, 4 miles away, with its wilder scenery and beach, or Dancing Ledge, 4 miles in the other direction, where you can snorkel from the rocks and dip in a small tidal pool.

Step into this apartment to find a utility room and separate WC at the lower levels, together with the bedroom and bathroom accommodation. This includes a double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, and a twin, with an en-suite shower room. A curved staircase leads up to the top of the holiday home, where there is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling and doors on to the conservatory-style seating area and then the sizeable roof terrace. The kitchen area is well equipped for whipping up holiday meals during your stay and is next to a dining space. The comfortable lounge has ample seating for relaxing on as you watch TV or listen to music.

The terrace, with its table and chairs and sun loungers, is the perfect place for outside dining and basking in the sunshine.

Great location in Swanage. We book this property for our holiday whenever it is available as we think it is the best value in the Haven. Well equipped and contains everything we needed for our walking holiday. Provision of milk and biscuits on arrival was a nice touch.

Lovely property, with gorgeous views over Swanage. Very clean and well equipped and just a short stroll into town.

This was our fourth visit. The location and the property are excellent . We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at The Roof Terrace , Swanage.

Perfect location, stunning views, only drawback from a purely personal point is that I found the mattresses too soft, but appreciate some would find them ideal

Equipment: missing plug and washing up bowl in kitchen (bowl later spotted on top of kitchen cupboards - to catch leaks in ceiling?) Cleanliness: mostly very good but just odd missed bits - nothing serious and it is the end of the season. Freezer has congealed pack of ice cubes and ice lollies left in from previous tenants.

For this particular property we found the bedrooms very cramped and badly designed in terms of doors. Also the shower in main bathroom had very poor water pressure. Much too much clutter under the sink. But otherwise it was fine.

Superb property equipped to a very high standard. We would not hesitate to return again. One or two comments regarding cleanliness: - a 3 diameter spillage on the shelf of the freezer had mould growing on it (lack of care by previous occupant and not checked by housemaid) - top surfaces of nest of tables were marked sticky Other than that the cleaRead morenliness - particularly the bathrooms - was very good. Green plastic chairs on the terrace are a bit tired and do not feel very safe to sit in. No plastic bags provided for linen and towels, so we improvised and used bin liners! Output from showers is disappointing - the water does not project much horizontally from the rose meaning one has to lean over the mixer to get wet! This is presumably due to the water pressure. However the thermostatic control is very good. Curious arrangement regarding rubbish disposal! Residents have separate bins for recycling, whereas holiday makers have one bin for everything so no chance to recycle! The above are only minor points and we had a wonderful holiday in a superb property. Hide
