Apple House is situated on the west side of the island within a ten-minute walk of the beach at Colwell Bay. Here, swimming paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Totland Bay is also within easy walking distance. The coastal path from this area can be followed westward to Alum Bay, Tennyson Down and The Needles - a wonderful walking area with panoramic sea views. The centre of Freshwater is also within a ten-minute walk and here, there are a variety of shops, small supermarkets, a sports centre with swimming pool and a golf club beautifully situated on the downs above Freshwater Bay. A great public house in the old part of Freshwater serves delicious meals and from here, you can enjoy a scenic walk beside the River Yar to Yarmouth; an attractive coastal town and sailing centre, with boutique style shops and some fine restaurants.
Apple House is a semi-detached property in a quiet close on the outskirts of Freshwater - only a short walk from the beach and shops. This house is tastefully decorated to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation of a high standard which is centrally heated and double glazed.
The ground floor is spacious and completely open-plan with a sitting room offering a comfortable sofa, armchairs, a flat screen television with Freeview, DVD player and a flame effect coal fire; a pleasant dining area with a circular table and French doors opening onto a patio; a well-equipped kitchen with an electric double oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Stairs ascend to two light and airy bedrooms with flat screen televisions with Freeview and DVD players. There is one double bedroom with a super-king-size bed and a large window from which there are views of Tennyson Down beyond the roof tops of the town, and a twin room with a dormer window overlooking the garden. There is also a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. A folding bed, only suitable for a child, is available for an additional charge of £35. A travel cot, and a high chair can be provided if required. Heating and electricity are without extra charge. Wi-Fi internet is available - unlimited.
Apple House offers a secluded, fenced and gated rear garden. There is a patio area with garden furniture and a parasol so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Five steps lead up an area of lawn where visitors can relax. Please be aware that there is an unfenced drop between the lawn and patio. Children do therefore need to be closely supervised in the garden. One car can be parked under the car port and there is space for an additional car in the drive. Bikes and beach equipment can be stored under the car port or in the shed at the top of the garden. There is a regular bus within five minutes walk, with easy connections to most routes. Nearby places to visit include Alum Bay The Needles Victoria Park and the National Nature Reserve at Newtown; a wonderful spot for viewing birds and butterflies.
